GWOS have recently appointed two prestigious professionals to Produce and Musically Direct their next production of “Die Fledermaus” at The Swan Theatre, Worcester March 23rd – 27th 2010.
Great Witley Operatic Society are thrilled to announce that Dr Donald Hunt, OBE has agreed to take the role of Musical Director. Dr Hunt was organist & Choirmaster of Worcester Cathedral for over 20 years, and is one of the Musical Directors of the renowned Three Choirs Festival. He has an international reputation as a Conductor of major choral and orchestral works in the UK and abroad. He first worked with GWOS as Musical Director for “The Merry Widow” in 2004, and for subsequent productions in the following three years.
Roberta Morrell has been appointed to direct the production. Roberta sang principle roles in her ten years with the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company. She has directed operas and musicals in the UK and abroad for over 20 years.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our members of GWOS and any new members who wish to join us for this production. The society are very excited and are looking forward to rehearsals which start in October.
