This 130 years old operetta still enthrals audiences and this excellent production was no exception. A very strong cast and well-drilled chorus gave a delightful performance. Linsey Squair and Richard Hulbert, 'Josephine and Ralph' sang superbly (or should I say blissfully & rapturous) and 'Buttercup', Kimberley Kainey, was a not so plump but very pleasing person indeed. Martin Jones gave a well studied but rather less imposing than usual portrayal of 'Sir Joseph' and Paul Elllis, was a fine 'Corcoran'. The orchestra was excellent as was the purpose built set which had to fit a different venue the next week.
