NODA: Many operatic and dramatic societies are affiliated to NODA (National Operatice & Dramatic Association) They produce about six magazines a year (which are available from Angie Harris). Four are national and give details of events, productions, books on theatre, information on scenery, props, costumes etc through adverts, general amateur gossip and a comprehensive ‘what’s on’ around the country. Two magazines are based on the Midlands and mainly publish reviews of productions and local information. We also use their insurance, which covers both the production and the cast and also guidance on areas such as Health and Safety, Child Protection and other legalities. Gilbert and Sullivan's "Pirate of Penzance" - 27th-31st March 2012 at The Swan Theatre, Worcester.

Join GWOS for a splendid swashbuckling evening. This well-known show is packed with memorable songs: I am the very model of a modern Major-General, A Policeman’s Lot Is Not Happy One, I am a Pirate King, the beautiful waltz Poor Wand’ring One, the gloriously melodic Hail poetry! and many more tunes. Gilbert and Sullivan poke fun at many English types and institutions. Their affectionate fun is as topical today as when it first delighted audiences over a hundred years ago.
